I wrote this poem on a normal evening. I watched you in our kitchen as the sunset turned everything gold. There is something special about these simple moments. Your presence changes our routine into something beautiful. The way you look while cutting vegetables and how your hair glows in the light make me fall in love again and again.
morning light spills across your shoulder blades,
coffee steam rises between us like incense,
your fingertips trace circles on ceramic,
my breath catches at your sleepy smile;
soft cotton slides against your hips,
bare feet pad across wooden floors,
kitchen radio plays our favorite song,
your laughter echoes through empty rooms;
shadows lengthen across afternoon walls,
your arms wrap around my waist from behind,
lips brush against my neck like whispers,
time slows down to match our breathing;
tangled sheets remember your body’s warmth,
moonlight traces silver on your skin,
my fingers memorize each freckle’s map,
our heartbeats sync in darkness now;
dawn breaks golden through window panes,
your eyes hold stories only I can read,
promises whispered against pillows,
love blooms eternal in morning light;
