Sadness is an emotion that we all experience at one point or another. It’s a heavy weight that can be difficult to shake off. Whether it’s from a broken heart, the loss of a loved one, or the challenges of life, sadness can leave us feeling hopeless and alone.
Sadness is a part of life, and though it can be overwhelming, it can also be a teacher. It can teach us to appreciate the good times, to find strength in ourselves, and to be grateful for the people in our lives who offer support and love. It’s okay to feel sad, to let the tears fall, and to take the time to heal.
In this poem, I’ll try to capture the depth of sadness, with raw and honest words that reflect the sorrow and pain that comes with the human experience.
My heart feels like a weight,
Heavy and burdened by fate,
The weight of sadness pulls me down,
Leaving me feeling lost and drowned.
Tears fall like rain from my eyes,
As I try to keep from drowning in the lies,
That everything will be alright,
When I know it’s just an empty sight.
The world around me feels so cold,
As the weight of sadness takes its hold,
It’s hard to see the light of day,
When the darkness just won’t go away.
The memories of the past,
Haunt me like a ghostly cast,
And I’m left with feelings so raw,
That I don’t know what I’m fighting for.
