Home Life Poems Holding on

Holding on

1.7K views

Dark, gloomy clouds
appeared on the horizon
with no purpose, they just lingered
waiting for the opportunity;

Holding On

Holding On

time stopped still
when I lost it all,
brakes appeared from nowhere
and put my life on hold;

brakes, that held these clouds back,
now released them and blackened my life,
spreading chaos and confusion
replacing sanity with insecurity!

swimming in the sea of darkness,
battling the vagaries of life
I struggled to keep myself afloat,
living for the sake of existence!

no direction, no respite
drifting away into realms of madness
I held on to my dear life,
and i still don’t know why!

  • Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all – Dale Carnegie
  • Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow – Dorothy Thompson
  • The road that is built in hope is more pleasant to the traveler than the road built in despair, even though they both lead to the same destination – Marion Zimmer Bradley
