Home Life Poems The Iron Ball

The Iron Ball

Heavy is the heart,
Slowing you down,
Leaving behind the trail like that of a snail,
Heavy, like a ball and chain
Tied to you in vain.

Shattered are your dreams,
If you not rid yourself of this shame.
There will be no reality.
Embrace yourself.
There is so much to live for,
So get rid of this ball and chain.

No matter how big or small,
This iron ball,
Shatter it with forgiveness,
For it is the first step that will set you free.

Freedom is what you live for.
Forgiveness is the key.
Hope is what will sustain you.
